Tony Stark Meme

Tony Stark Head Turn is the close-up of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame (2019), wearing the red and white time-travel suit with his hair swept up. His head is tilted, his eyes slide sideways and one eyebrow is raised, giving a look that says he has caught on to something. The blurred profile of another person sits at the right edge of the frame. This template gives you a strip along the bottom for your caption, and a moving GIF of the full head turn is also available. Our library has a few other Tony Stark memes too; this page covers the head turn, also known as Iron Man Looking.

What does the Tony Stark meme mean?

This Tony Stark meme is a reaction for recognition and suspicion. The sideways glance reads as "I see what you're doing" or "wait, did you just say what I think you said?" People reply with it when someone drops a suspicious claim, hints at something, or lets slip a detail they shouldn't have. It also works as a smug "I knew it" when a guess turns out right. Because the head turn is short and easy to read, it fits screenshots, group chats and video edits, where it is usually dropped in right after the line that set it off. The early version was a wordplay joke on the name Stark, but the look itself is what keeps people using it.
