What does the Sophie Cunningham Pointing meme mean?
The point is a call-out. The caption names someone or something that's guilty, lazy or up to no good, and Sophie's steady finger and unamused face say "I see you." It's used for catching a friend who ate your leftovers, a coworker who replied-all, or your own bad habits. It also works for picking someone — "you, you're next." Keep it playful: the joke is the dramatic, unblinking accusation.
Where is the Sophie Cunningham Pointing meme from?
The moment comes from a WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and the Phoenix Mercury on June 22, 2026, which the Fever won 86–77. After a physical play involving Fever star Caitlin Clark and Mercury player DeWanna Bonner, Cunningham pointed at Bonner and kept pointing as she followed her around the court. On June 23, 2026, an X user posted a front-facing clip of the point, and from June 24 the clip took off as a meme on X, then on TikTok and Instagram. Cunningham talked about the moment on her podcast, Show Me Something, a few days later.
