What does the Jimothy the Raccoon meme mean?
Jimothy stands for small but determined energy. He's always shown hurrying somewhere with full commitment, so captions describe a mission: heading to the fridge at midnight, rushing to the free food, showing up for your friends. The tone is wholesome — he's doing his best, and people love him for it. It's also used to describe anything short, round and adorable.
Where is the Jimothy the Raccoon meme from?
Jimothy is a wild raccoon in Seattle, Washington, said to live around the Ballard neighborhood. On July 14, 2026, Instagram user Kiana Hall posted a video of him running across her backyard, mentioning that he had visited during her anniversary and signing off "Praise Jimothy!!" The clip was reposted widely within days. Other locals soon shared their own sightings and even a video of him as a baby, while artists posted drawings of him. His unusually short, round body is linked to short spine syndrome, a rare condition in which the vertebrae are compressed. By late July 2026 Google had added a search Easter egg featuring a scurrying raccoon, which Axios covered.
